Margaret Jane 'Janie' Mcalister - Wheeler

Margaret Jane Janie McAlister - Wheeler, 75, of Amarillo died Sunday, February 21, 2016 in Amarillo. Memorial Service will be held Wednesday at 2:00 pm in Chaparral Hills Baptist Church with Pastor Alan Burkhalter officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Janie was born on December 11, 1940 in Sparkman, Ark. She moved to Amarillo from Arkansas in 2012. Janie honorably served in the Navy. She was a very hard worker, she was a devoted Christian and a member of Chaparral Hills Baptist Church She is survived by her five daughters; Caryann Wheeler of Roseville, CA, Schellon Marie Wheeler Mitchell of Amarillo, Traci Will of Ill, Lisa Taggart of VA, and Stephanie Nelson of Ark, two sisters; Anna Mae Zamora of Hollister, CA, Myrtle Marie Thurman of Richmond, VA. a brother; Douglas McAlister of OR. Nine Grandchildren and many extended family members. Family suggest memorial donations go to the Panhandle Alzheimers Association.
