Margie Lucille Ford

A celebration of her life will be at 2:00 pm Friday, September 30 at Prairie View Baptist Chapel with Calvin Powell officiating. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Rector Funeral Home 2800 South Osage St. Margie was born on October 14, 1934 to Jesse and Olive Ford in Hereford, and had been a resident of Amarillo since 1955. She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 40 years, and was treasurer of the telephone union during her employment and continued after she retired. She was a life time member of Beta Sigma Pi. She was a former member of Second Baptist Church, and currently a member of Prairie View Baptist Chapel. Margie had a pleasant personality, and greatly loved her nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed. She was preceded in death by her parents; and 2 brothers, John and Ernest Ford. Survivors include 3 sisters, Rosa Lueb of Amarillo, Patsy D'Herde and husband Maurice of Lorena, and Betty Rickert and husband Ronald of Amarillo; 3 brothers, George Ford and wife Janice of Pampa, Joe Ford of Houston, and Lee Ford of Amarillo; 2 sister in laws, Marie Ford of Warminster, PA, and Virginia Ford of Charleston, SC, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. The family suggests that memorials be made to the Prairie View Baptist Chapel Building Fund, 3700 E. FM 1151, Amarillo, TX 79118
