Margie A Shackelford

Margie Shackelford, 69, was born October 3, 1947, She passed Tuesday, June 13, 2017 Born in Sayre, Oklahoma to Gene and Ruby Bruce. Margie was a proud graduate of Happy High School. Margie attended West Texas State University where she received a BS in Business. After graduating from WT she married Don Shackelford and began her teaching career in Ropesville, Tx. She taught in Ropesville for a year, then moved to Duncan, OK where she taught high school for 20 years and where her son, Kelly was born. Retiring from teaching, she moved to Amarillo TX, to enjoy retirement, family, and all 5 of her grand kids. Margie was a natural teacher and loved talking and making people laugh. Through out Margie's life her Christian faith was the most important thing to her. She loved reading the Bible and sharing her faith with family, friends and anyone she could. Margie was a beautiful person, she blessed so many people in so many ways. She will be loved and missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Ruby Bruce, two brothers, Steve and Dave Bruce of Amarillo, TX She is survived by one son, Kelly Shackelford and wife, Robyn, one sister, Sue Triplett and husband Charlie, five grandchildren, Andy Shackelford, Lacy Shackelford, Trent Shackelford, Kelli Shackelford and Kodi Shackelford, also two nephews, Larry Triplett and wife, Kim and Mike Triplett. Viewing, Sunday, June 18, 2017 from 1:00 pm -8:00 pm. Services will be Monday, June 19, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, burial following at Llano Cemetery , arrangements by Rector Funeral Home.
