Maria Ernestina Bustos

Maria E. Bustos, 87, of Amarillo died Friday Nov. 15, 2019. Service will be 11 Am Wednesday at Blessed Sacrament. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home 2800 S. Osage. Family will receive friends Monday 4-7:30 pm with a rosary Tuesday 6:30 pm. Maria was born March 13, 1932 to Jacinta and Alfredo Moreno in Lockhart Tx. She moved to Amarillo in 1961. Maria had a crazed love for music. She always had music playing, swaying to the music. She was a very loving and supportive mother. She would start the day early and end it late to make sure the house and the family was taken care. She enjoyed cooking and cleaning. Maria loved to teach her children to cook. In her house everyone was always welcomed. She was a giving person but never took for herself. She often crumbled up bread into crumbs to feed the birds or worked out in her garden. Tulips were her favorite flowers. She was always happy go lucky. Maria made the most out of every day. Maria married the love of her life Guadalupe Bustos Sept. 16, 1948. They were blessed with 10 sons and 7 daughters. Maria was married to Gaudalupe until his death in 2013. Maria was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, Jesse Bustos Sr. and Francisco M. Bustos Sr. She is survived by her six daughters, Patsy and her husband Joe Preciado, Erminia and her husband Rafael Cordero, Amelia and her husband Victor Gallegos, Maria Chavez-Bustos, Sallia and her husband Geromino Orozco, Mary and her husband Jorge Chairez, eight sons, Guadalupe Bustos Jr., Roy and his wife Rhonda Bustos, Rudy Bustos, Ricky and his wife Anna Bustos, Johnny and his wife Maria Bustos, Edward and his wife Martha Bustos, Mario and his wife Sonia Bustos, and Isaac Bustos, 68 grandchildren, many great and great-great grandchildren.
