Maria Cervantes

Maria Cervantes, 68, of Amarillo died Sunday, August 1, 2021. Mass of a Christian Burial Will is 2:00 pm Thursday, August 12 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage. The family will receive guests Tuesday 6-8 pm and the rosary will be Wednesday 6:00 pm at the funeral home. Maria was born June 12, 1953, in Meoqui, Chihuahua Mexico, to Petra Salinas and Jose Carrasco. She moved to the United States in 1973 to Santa Monica. In 1994, She moved to Amarillo. Maria Married the love of her life, Eusebio Cervantes in 1975. The family was everything to her. She enjoyed the road trips to Arizona and California to visit her children and grandchildren. She loved cooking for her family and spending time with them. She was very understanding, forgiving, and encouraging. As a young girl, Maria enjoyed dancing and playing basketball and listening to music. She also enjoyed gardening but loved Shopping. Maria could go shopping for hours. Maria was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, two daughters; Judith Montenegro, and her husband Saul, and Karina Cervantes and her husband Gabriel, two sons; Eusebio Cervantes and his wife Hayde, and Ruben Cervantes and his wife Leslie, 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, seven Sisters; Lucia, Elva, Josefina, Irma, Marta, Celia, Lorena, and one brother, Juan Antonia.
