Maria H. Cox, 86, of Amarillo passed peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, February 7th, 2023. Family and friends are welcome for viewing on Friday, February 10th, 2023 at Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage from 5pm to 7pm. Celebration of Marias life will be held Saturday, February 11th, 2023 at 10am in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Garden of Prayer. Her family is comforted by the certainty that her faith led her confidently into the arms of her Lord and Savior, her "Pa". Maria was born on May 31st, 1936 in Santa Ana, El Salvador to Maria Antonia Mejia and Emilio Lopez. She moved to the United States in May of 1970 to build a better life for herself and her family. Maria was a devoted woman of God that loved spending time outside with nature and all of her flowers. She was a sweet and caring soul who loved her family with all she had. She was proud of the legacy she created. Maria was a person who loved to travel and create memories. Cooking for her family and making them laugh were a couple of her favorite pastimes. Known to most as Maria, to her Grandchildren she was "Grandma", and "Grandma Cling Cling" to her Great Grandchildren. Maria was preceded in death by her husband Browning Cox, her parents, Maria Antonia Mejia and Emilio Lopez, her 3 sisters, and 2 brothers. Maria leaves a legacy of 6 kids, Ana Isabel Limon and husband Roberto Limon, Sandra E. Cartagena, Haydee P. Cartagena, Carlos Cartagena and wife Jennifer Cartagena, Alvaro Cartagena and wife Dora Cartagena, and Moises Lopez; 16 Grandchildren; 26 Great Grandchildren; 8 Great Great Grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends. Maria will be dearly missed by all friends and family. Espaol Maria H. Cox, 86, de Amarillo falleci pacificamente con su familia a su lado, en el Martes, 7 de Febrero, 2023. Los familiares y amigos son bienvenidos a la velacin del funeral el viernes 10 de febrero de 2023 en Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage de 5 p.m. a 7 p.m. La celebracin de la vida de Mara se llevar a cabo el sbado 11 de febrero de 2023 a las 10 a. m. en la capilla de la funeraria. El entierro seguir en Memorial Park Cemetery, Garden of Prayer. Su familia se consuela con la certeza de que su fe la condujo confiadamente a los brazos de su Seor y Salvador, su "Pa". Mara naci el 31 de mayo de 1936 en Santa Ana, El Salvador, de Mara Antonia Meja y Emilio Lpez. Se mud a los Estados Unidos en Mayo de 1970 para construir una vida mejor para ella y su familia. Mara era una devota mujer de Dios que amaba pasar tiempo al aire libre con la naturaleza y todas sus flores. Era un alma dulce y cariosa que amaba a su familia con todo lo que tena. Estaba orgullosa del legado que cre. Mara era una persona a la que le encantaba viajar y crear recuerdos. Cocinar para su familia y hacerlos rer eran algunos de sus pasatiempos favoritos. Ella era conocida por la mayora como Mara, por sus nietos como "Grandma" y por sus bisnietos como "Grandma Cling Cling". A Mara le precedieron en la muerte su esposo Browning Cox, sus padres, Mara Antonia Meja y Emilio Lpez, sus 3 hermanas y 2 hermanos.
