Maria T. Flores

Maria T. ""GG"" Flores 84 of Amarillo died Monday June 14, 2010 in Amarillo. Rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM Tuesday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel. Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday at St Laurence Cathedral. Interment will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Flores was born on May 5, 1926 in Van Horn to Apolino and Senorina (Almanza) Aguilar. She was raised in Mexico and moved back to Van Horn in 1944. Mrs. Flores moved to Amarillo in 1971 from Brownfield. Mrs. Flores was a homemaker and a member of St. Laurence Cathedral where she was active with the Guadalupanas and the Alter Society. She enjoyed helping others and spending time with friends and family. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She married Antonio V. Flores on January 26, 1944. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1982, 2 sons, Ramon Flores in 2007 and Antonio V. ""Tony"" Flores in 2010. She is survived by 3 daughters, Janie Garcia and Carlota Fabela both of Amarillo and Margaret Elizardo of El Paso; 1 son, Santos A. Flores of Amarillo; 26 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of Odyssey Hospice and Outreach Services for the special care given to Mrs. Flores.
