Maria Fuentes

Maria A. ""Coco"" Fuentes, 83, of Amarillo died Thursday, June 12, 2003. Rosary will be at 7:00pm, Sunday, in Rector Funeral Home Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St., with Deacon Hector Gallegos officiating. Funeral Mass will be at 2:00pm Monday in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Monsignor Rex Nicholl officiating. Mrs. Fuentes was born in Adrian, and moved to Amarillo where she lived most of her life. She worked as a nurse at St. Anthony's for more than 25 years. She also worked at Caprock Home Health Care for 13 years. She married David Fuentes in 1938 in Amarillo. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1991; and two grandchildren, Michael Fuentes in 1986 and Rhonda Hernandez in 1961. Survivors include three daughters, Angelina Hernandez, Gloria Martinez, and Bonita Ynojosa, all of Amarillo; two sons, David Fuentes Jr. and Gabriel Fuentes, both of Amarillo; three sisters, Grabielita Diaz of Tucumcari, N.M., Julia Thompson of Frazier Park, Calif., and Juanita Guillen of Amarillo; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
