Maria Estella Sierra 68, of Amarillo died Sunday, December 27, 2015 in Amarillo. Rosary will be said at 6:00 PM Wednesday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel. Mass of the Christian burial will be at 2:00 PM Thursday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel. Maria was born in Amarillo on April 17, 1947 to Frank and Clorinda (Vigil) Jimenez. She lived in Amarillo most of her life. She worked as a custodian for the Amarillo ISD for several years. After leaving AISD, Maria began volunteering her time helping others. She was an active volunteer for Sunrise Elementary, Alamo Catholic School and Tyler Resource center. She enjoyed sewing and doing various crafts and giving her time to help the less fortunate. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church. Maria was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jimmy Jimenez. The family would like to express their appreciation to the doctors and staff of the Craig Retirement Center for the love and care they extended to Maria during her illness Maria is survived by two daughters, Anna Perez and her husband Raul and Jessica Leonard and her husband Eddie all of Amarillo; one son, Christopher Paul Sierra of Amarillo; six sisters, Nellie Jimenez, Salina Martinez, Frances Salas, Becky Chavez and Beatrice Jimenez all of Amarillo and Rosa Alvarez of Austin; two brothers, Johnny Jimenez and Frank Jimenez both of Amarillo; 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
