Marie Moose

Marie Moose 86, of Amarillo died Thursday June 25, 2009 in Amarillo. Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday at Llano East Cemetery, Field of Valor. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Moose was born in Davis OK. She moved to Amarillo in 1979 from Borger. She was a homemaker and had worked for Brown's Quick Stop. Marie Moose was more than just ""Marie"". She was ""Mom"" to her children, ""Nana"" to her grandchildren, ""Shug"" to her husband, brothers and sisters and ""Aunt Sugar"" to her nieces and nephews. She married Earl Moose in 1940 at Sulphur, OK. She stood by him for 58 years She lived for her family. Whether cooking for a huge crowd, or playing games with her grandchildren, she was always ready to have fun. She loved having company where she could laugh, play, and show her precious love. Mrs. Moose was a beautiful woman inside and out. She was strong and feisty too. She endured many hardships and rarely complained. She kept on going, kept on smiling and kept on loving. Mrs. Moose was one of a kind. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her. Her husband preceded her in death in 1998. She was also preceded in death by 4 brothers, Jack E. Woods, Robert ""Bob"" Woods, Horace ""Woody"" Woods and Roy Gene Woods and by 2 sisters Berniece Elmore Taylor and Joann Stone. She is survived by 1 daughter, Donabeth Adkins and her husband Kenneth of Amarillo; 1 son, John Earl Moose and his wife Trudy of Borger; 1 sister, June Ogle of Richardson; 7 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
