Maris Ilene Sanchez, 35 born in Amarillo Texas, on May 7th, 1986 passed away Friday, August 27, 2020. Mass is 1:00 pm Thursday, September 2, 2021, Officiated by Fr. Jose Gomez. The Family will receive guests Tuesday from 6-8:00 pm at the funeral home. Rosary will be 6:00 pm led by Elma Martinez at the funeral home. Maris graduated from Amarillo College with Associates in Applied Science Early childhood development achieving Deans List and being a member of Phi Theta Kappa. She continued to pursue her studies graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary studies achieving magna cum laude and Deans List from West Texas A & M University. She was president of BESO (Bilingual / ESL Education Student Organization and was a member of the Kappa Delta Pi and Alpha Chi. Maris enjoyed volunteering regularly for Snack Pak 4 Kids. Despite her hectic schedule, Maris devoted her life to her husband Dominic and their two sons, she treasured and embraced every moment with them. They were her motivation to accomplish her dreams of being a teacher. Maris was an active member at Our lady of Guadalupe. She was a spiritual woman involved in many church activities. Maris loved decorating and making crafts with the kids. She lit up every room she walked into with her amazing personality and sense of humor. Maris always made her family and friends feel comfortable and welcomed every time she was around. She was helpful, supportive, and always gave encouraging advice whenever it was needed. When you think of Maris, celebrate the good memories you have of her. Remember that life is fragile and short and should be lived to the fullest. Maris is survived by her husband Dominic and two sons Johnruben and Benjamin; her parents Ruben and Ruby Sanchez; Sisters Marina, Sylvia, and Allis Sanchez Nieces: Jasmine, Nicole, Keanua, Aracely, Paisley Nephews: Sean, Wyatt, Ayden, Cash.
