Marivel Jessica Delgado Preciado crossed the veil on Thursday, July 20, 2023. She was 42 years old and left a legacy of love, devotion, inspiration, loyalty and commitment to those who knew and loved her. To her family, she was and will continue to be a symbol of strength and hope. Visitation is scheduled for Monday, July 24th from 12-7 p.m. at Rector Funeral Home at 2800 S. Osage. The rosary will be held on Tuesday, July 25th from 6-8 p.m. Mass will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at St. Marys Catholic Cathedral at 1200 S. Washington St. Marivel was born in Dimmitt, TX on January 29, 1981, to Cruz and Aurora Delgado. She was a member of the Randall High School class of 1999 and received her cosmetology certification upon graduation. She also received her Associate Degree in General Studies from Amarillo College. Marivel was the mother of 5 wonderful children. Each one was unique and special to her. She was always their biggest supporter. She believed in creating memories and planned exciting adventures with her children and family. Throughout her life, Marivel enjoyed sewing, needlework, fishing, scary movies and roller coasters! Trying out different kinds of foods was definitely something that enticed and challenged her, giving her the title of "Foodie". During Marivels fight with cancer she received treatment at the University of Texas - M.D. Anderson Center in Houston. She was also a trial participant at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, MD. She used her personal experience with cancer to help others through their cancer journey. Marivel is survived by her sons Jayden, Blaze and Michael; and her daughters, Patricia and Janae all of Amarillo; her sister, Nicole Speetjens and niece, Amira of Alabama; her brothers, Nathan and Matthew; her best friend, Nancy Perez. Her "grandferrets" will miss their grandmother. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents. She was preceded in death by her parents.
