Mark Anthony PoPo Bendinskas, 51, of Amarillo died Thursday August 21, 2014 in Amarillo. Memorial Services will be held at 4:00 pm Saturday August 30 at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel. A celebration of life services will be held at La Paloma Golf Club at 5:30 pm. Cremation Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Amarillo, Texas. Mark was born on November 26, 1962 in Belvedere, CA. to Mary Louise Horlacher and Paul Bendinskas. He grew up in Tucumcari, NM where he and his brothers and cousins found plenty of fun, mischief and hard work to get into. Mark graduated from Tucumcari High School in 1980. Marks work ethics were instilled in him at a young age and carried on with him throughout his life. He started working at a young age as a dishwasher at Sirloin Stockade in Tucumcari, NM. By the age of 18 he made manager and moved his new growing family to Amarillo, Texas. In the 90s Marks drive and hard work landed him the job as General Manager of Olive Garden where he spent the better part of a quarter century there doing what he loved. Mark loved his job, but most of all he truly adored and loved his Olive Garden family. Mark was the life of the party. He traveled the world and loved to have fun and enjoy life. But most of all he loved the game of golf. He was a member of the Tascosa County Club where he spent a great deal of his time working on his game he was known as Mr. double press, twenty to one odds, and two down autos and Pressed when Pissed. Mark was a loving man, great father, grandfather, brother, son, cousin, friend, and most of all Buddy he will be missed by all that knew him. In true Mark Bendinskas form, he made it clear the he vetoed the notion of any traditional funeral and instead he wanted an end all be all celebration of his life. He was preceded in death by; his mother Mary Louise Horlacher, and a grandson Hunter Gage Bendinskas. Mark is survived by a son, Kevin Bendinskas and wife Dedra, two daughters, Vanessa and Natasha Bendinskas all of Amarillo. His father Harold Hootie Horlacher of Tucumcari, and father Paul Bendinskas of CA, six grandchildren; Marcus, Morgan Anthony, Marlee Webb, Kloe McReynolds, Alison Christopher, and Kendall Bendinskas all of Amarillo, four brothers, Daniel Love and his wife Robin of New Mexico, Paul Bendinskas and wife Edwina of New Mexico. Harold Jr. Horlacher and wife Lisa, and Richard Horlacher, a sister Lorena Bendinskas of CA. his best friends, golfing buddies and his entire Olive Garden family. The family suggest memorials be to Amarillo National Bank in Memory of Mark Bendinskas.
