Mark Anthony Martinez

Mark Anthony Martinez 43, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2022, in Amarillo. Services will be at 10:00 am Wednesday at Power Church with Manny De Los Santos, pastor officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Mark was born on Oct. 7, 1978, in Amarillo to Luis and Mary Ann Chavez. He attended Caprock High School and had worked at Bekins A&W Transfer and Storage for more than 20 years. He was a great provider and dearly loved his family. Mark was big-hearted and very giving. He was an excellent husband, father, son, brother and friend. Mark enjoyed competitive cooking and handmaking men's jewelry. He was very talented. He married Angela Cates on Feb. 19, 2006, in Amarillo. He was preceded in death by his father, and two sons, Daniel and Moses, one stepsister, Samantha. Mark is survived by his wife; two sons Mark Martinez, Jr., and Timothy Cates; two daughters, Abigail Martinez and Mary Martinez; His mother and stepfather, Mary Ann and Johnny Sandoval; his grandmother, Juliana Martinez; four brothers, Joshua Martinez, Arthur Mendez, Joel Mendez and his wife Christina, and Felix Hernandez; one sister Amanda Mendez; one stepbrother, Matthew Sandoval; one stepsister, Elizabeth Romero, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
