Marshall Bert ""Marty"" Fletcher, 45 of Amarillo died Saturday January 17, 2004, in Streetman, Texas. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday at Comanche Trail Church of Christ, with Loran Harper, minister officiating. Cremation and arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home 2800 S. Osage St. Amarillo, Texas Mr. Fletcher was born in El Campo, Texas. He moved to Amarillo in 1978. He was a member of the Boilermaker's Union. He was a Texas peace officer and deputy for the Potter County Sheriff's Dept. Most recently he worked as a security police officer and alternate telecommunications sergeant at Pantex. He married Tammy Fry in 1979 at Amarillo. He was a deacon at Comanche Trail Church of Christ. He and his wife have been house parents for the Children's Emergency Home of Amarillo for 6 1/2 years. They worked for Child Protective Services and were members of the Foster Parents Association of Amarillo. Survivors include: his wife of the home, 1 daughter, Tiffany Star Fletcher of the home; 1 son, Beau Jared Fletcher and his wife Shara of Amarillo; his mother, Norma Green of Pulaski, TN; his father and step-mother, J.N. Fletcher, Sr., and Darlene Fletcher of Roaring Springs; his grandmother, Nadine Redd of Kingsland, TX; 3 sisters, Kim Fletcher of Roaring Springs, Laurie Dunlap of Bay City, and Darla McNeil of Lubbock. Due to medical reasons, the family requests that there be no flowers. They request, instead that memorial donations be made to the Tiffany Fletcher Medical Fund c/o Comanche Trail Church of Christ, P.O. Box 30516, Amarillo, TX 79120, or to the Children's Emergency Home of Amarillo at the same address.
