Martha Lewis Sain

Martha Lewis Sain 94, of Amarillo died Sunday, August 1, 2010 in Amarillo. Services will be at 10:00 AM Monday at South Georgia Baptist Church, with Bob Miller, pastor officiating. Graveside service will be at 3:00 PM Monday at Englewood Cemetery in Slaton. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Sain was born on December 26, 1915 in Vernon, to Samuel and Edith (Sparks) Lewis. Mrs. Sain lived most of her adult life in Slaton. She was a devout Christian and a longtime member of Westview Baptist Church in Slaton where she served as the pianist and organist for many years. Mrs. Sain was an exemplary wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She married Jim Sain in 1934 at Crosbyton. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1975, a great-grandson, Bryan Splawn in 1992, 2 sisters and a brother. Survivors include 2 daughters, Jimmie Splawn of Amarillo and Kay Lambert and her husband Bob of Paris; 5 grandchildren, Jerry Splawn, David Splawn and Cheryl Cotgreave all of Amarillo, Debra Rinehart of Mesquite and Teri Graham of Corpus Christi; 12 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorial donations be to the American Heart Association.
