Martin Joseph Trujillo, known affectionately as Martin to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2024, in Amarillo, Texas. Born on February 4, 1963, in Boise, Idaho, Martin's journey through life was marked by an unwavering love for his family, a passion for fixing things, and a deep-rooted love for Colorado sports.
Martin was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Blu Jean Trujillo; his son, Claudio Trujillo; his brothers, Danny Silva and Claudio Trujillo; and his nephew, Alex Trujillo. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his beloved wife, Celia (Sally) Trujillo; his daughter, Amanda Cruz; his sons, Lorenzo "Bubba" Trujillo and Anthony "Hito" Trujillo; and his adored grandchildren, Katrina, Zaniah, A’Brie, Xavian, Ehston, Preston, Bella, Jett, Jasiah, Janesah, and Jade. His great-grandchild, Zaire, will also miss his loving presence. Martin's memory will be further treasured by his four sisters, Loretta Silva, Carla Trujillo, Yolonda Trujillo, and Vonna Trujillo, as well as his cherished cats, Shady, Tiny, and Butter.
A proud graduate of Pueblo County High School in Pueblo, Colorado, Martin's tenacity and competitive spirit led him to become a state champion wrestler, a testament to his dedication and hard work. His professional life was as diverse as his interests, and he was known for his ability to fix anything from cars to bikes to washing machines.
Martin was a very sociable person who loved all his family deeply. He took great pride in mowing his yard and was an avid fan of the Denver Broncos and the Colorado Buffs. His loving, kind, and handy nature made him a cherished figure in his community.
Martin's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and perseverance. His memory will be held in the hearts of those he touched forever.
