Marvin L. Harm 82, of Amarillo died Monday April 22, 2013 in Amarillo. Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Ken Haney, Chaplain of Interim Healthcare officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Amarillo, Texas. Mr. Harm was born on March 16, 1931 in Port Huron, MI to Russell and Anne Thomas Schieman. His mother passed away when he was an infant and he was adopted by his uncle and aunt, Henry and Edith Schieman Harm. Mr. Harm served in the Army during the German occupation and later during the Korean War. After being honorably discharged from the Army, Mr. Harm worked as a millwright in Port Huron until his retirement in 1991. He loved traveling the United States and camping. He also loved working with his hands. He was an avid woodworker and cabinetmaker. He was a member of the VFW and the Moose Lodge. He married the love of his life, Margaret Kesner on January 29, 1955 in Port Huron. He is survived by his wife; four sons, Marvin Harm and his wife Cathleen of Houston, William Karl Harm of Amarillo, Bryan Harm and his wife Kathern of Port Huron and Scott Harm and his wife Jean of Fairbanks, AK; one daughter, Cheryl Martin and her husband Jay of Port Huron; one brother, Louis Schieman of Westland, MI; one sister, Lillian Gerlack of Port Huron; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
