Mary O. Allard 91, of Amarillo died Sunday September 12, 2010 in Amarillo. Services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday at Rector Funeral Home osage Chapel with James Baker officiating. Interment will be at llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. osage St. Ms. Allard was born in Shamrock. She moved to Amarillo in 1943 from Shamrock. She worked at pantex during WWII in the Ordinance Plant. After the war ended, she began a lifelong career in the laundry and dry cleaning business. She worked for Panhandle Laundry and Doche Cleaners for many years. She owned and operated The Plaza Cleaners from 1970 until her retirement in the early 1990's Ms. Allard was a very hard worker. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She loved to dance and crochet afghans. She also loved her church family and was a faithful member of the Primitive Baptist Church She was preceded in death by a son, Roy Don Griffin in 1990. She is survived by 1 son, Paul McDonald and his wife Joyce of Amarillo; a daughter in law, Shirley Griffin on Corsicana; 4 grandchildren, Caprice Hopper, Susan Davis and Jeanne Harrell all of Amarillo and Christy Griffin of Corsican; 4 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorial donation be to the Primitive Baptist Church 914 W. Colorado, Amarillo, Texas 79108.
