Mary P. Grove

Mary P. ""Nana"", Grove of Amarillo passed away on Friday, November 27, 2009 at her home. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 30, 2009 at Rector Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Carter officiating. A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Roy, NM. Interment will follow in Roy Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel 2800 S. Osage St. Amarillo, Texas. Mary was born on September 10, 1922 in Mills, New Mexico to Dan and Fortunata Delfinia Montoya. Her mother passed away when she was a small child and she was raised by her step mother, Isabella Montoya. She married James Edwin ""Jim"" Grove in December 6, 1943 in Juarez, Mexico. He preceded her in death in 1973. Nana was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family was her life. She will be missed by everyone who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Richard Grove; her granddaughter, Tammy Grove; 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Mary is survived by 2 daughters, Lina Smith and husband Jimmy of Amarillo and Betty McAllister and husband Mike of Canyon; 5 sons, Don Grove and wife Sheryl of Amarillo; Larry Grove and wife Sally of St. John, Kansas; Bill Grove and his wife Donna of Amarillo; Gunnar Grove and wife Cle of Dallas and Robert Grove and wife Kathy of Amarillo; 2 brothers, Dan Montoya of Albuquerque, NM and Michael Montoya of Roy, NM; 34 grandchildren; 78 great grandchildren and 18 great-great grandchildren; her special friends Angie and Ray Baca of Amarillo and numerous extended family. Viewing will be from 12:30 PM - 7:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
