Mary Ruth Leib

Mary Ruth Leib 94, of Amarillo died Friday, June 20, 2014 in Amarillo. Services will be at 2:00 PM Monday at Polk Street United Methodist Church Chapel with Marty Hamrick, Methodist minister officiating. Private family interment will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Leib was born on July 10, 1919 in Clovis, NM to William Oscar and Jerry Belle Conner. She was raised in Panhandle and graduated from Panhandle High School. She lived in Borger many years before moving to Amarillo. Mrs. Leib worked as a bookkeeper in Borger and as an apartment manager in Amarillo. She retired at the age of 84. She was a devout member of Polk Street United Methodist Church. Mrs. Leib was a dedicated wife and mother and a devoted grandmother. She enjoyed spending time gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband Carroll Frank Leib. She is survived by her daughter, Gretchen Ekstrand and her husband Danny of Amarillo; 6 grandchildren, Bill Turner, Scott Combs, Jay Carroll Leib, Chris Leib Petsche, Martin Ekstrand, Dana Ekstrand and 2 great grandchildren.
