Mary Elizabeth Morgan

Betty Morgan, 87 of Amarillo died Monday June 16, 2008 in Amarillo. Services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Rev. Robert E. Field officiating. Interment will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Morgan was born on Nov. 29, 1920 in Amarillo to James and Eva Mae (Hales) Gwyn. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1939. She was a homemaker and a Methodist. She married Bill Spoontz in 1947 at Clovis. He died in 1962. She married Pete Morgan in 1962. He died in 1981. She was also preceded in death by 5 brothers, Aaron, James, Jr., J.W. Charles and Henry. Survivors include her daughter, Sheila Collins and her husband Bobby of Amarillo; 2 brothers, Freeman Gwyn and George Gwyn and his wife Rebecca all of Amarillo; 2 grandchildren, Rhonda Underwood and her husband Thomas and Ronnie Collins and his wife Cindy all of Amarillo; 3 great-grandchildren, Tyler Underwood, Cody Underwood and Katie Collins all of Amarillo; her sister in law, Frances Gwyn of Amarillo and a special friend Marie Collins of Amarillo. The family requests memorial donations to Olivia's Angels in care of BSA Hospice or St. Stephen United Methodist Church.
