Mary Louisa Orosco

Maria Louisa Orosco, 68, of Amarillo died June 7, 2012 in Amarillo. Rosary services followed by a celebration of life will be Sunday, June 10, 2012 5:00 pm at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel. Services will be Monday, June 11, 2012 at 10:00 am at Primera Iglesia Bautista, I-40 and South Houston Street. Burial will be at Llano East Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel 2800 S. Osage St. Mary was born May 4, 1944 to Miguel Sr. and Cruz Hinojos in Presidio, Texas. She married Jesse Orosco on December 22, 1960 in Odessa, Texas. They lived in Amarillo from 1966-1985, then moved to Sacramento, California. They returned to Amarillo in 2007. She was preceded in death by her parents Miguel Hinojos Sr and Cruz Hinojos, her brother Miguel Hinojos II, her sister Priscilla Hinojos-Ontiveros. Her biggest joy was going to New York, Washington DC which included taking a tour of the White House, as well as going to Reno and Lake Tahoe. She loved attending church and her church family. She loved having cookouts with family and friends. Survivors include her husband; three sisters, Olga Najera and husband Raul, Eloida Munoz and husband Luis, Linda Hinojos, Sister-in-law Ida Hinojos; two brothers, Israel Hinojos, Ismael Hinojos and wife Sylvia and Hector Jaquez and wife Yolanda; one daughter, Debra Martinez and husband Jesse; two sons, Roy Orosco and Jesse Jaquez; 9 grandchildren, Tony Garcia and wife Mary, Chris Garcia, Destiny Orosco, Roy Orosco Jr, Isabel Orosco, John Garcia, Tabitha Garcia, Eric Martinez and Sara Martinez. 8 great-grandchildren. A special extended California family, the late John and Margaret Pina from West Sacramento, Mike, Rose and Cissy Pina all of West Sacramento. Including many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the BSA Critical Care Nurses and staff for their compassionate care during this difficult time.
