Mary Bell Spruell

Mary Bell Spruell 82 of Amarillo died Tuesday, July 10, 2012 in Amarillo. Services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Dr. Larry Dunlap, senior pastor of Valley View Church of the Nazarene officiating. Interment will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Ms. Spruell was born on a farm near Ruidoso, NM on August 27, 1929. She attended a one-room school in Angus, NM. She moved to Amarillo in 1962 from Clovis. She married Frank Smith in 1945. In 1962, she married Glen Spruell. He preceded her in death in 1991. In 1992, she met her companion, E.J. Dennis. They shared many fun times together and owned and operated Wiser's One Stop for several years. She was a Christian and attended Valley View Church of the Nazarene. She is survived by her companion of more than 20 years, E.J. Dennis of the home; 2 sons, Danny Smith of Austin, Rob Spruell of Plano; 1 step son, Gaylon Spruell of Amarillo; 2 daughters, Donna Hand of Denver, CO, Trudy Spruell of Ardmore, OK; 1 step-daughter. Glenda Fitzpatrick of Amarillo; 1 brother, Paul Jones of Capitan. NM; 2 sisters, Opal Peters of Capitan, NM and Regal of Amarillo; 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
