Mary A. Whaley

Mary A. Whaley, 70 of Amarillo died Monday Feb. 4, 2008 at her home. Services will be at 3:00 PM Thursday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Hershel Smith, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church and Anthony Pennington, pastor of Green Tree Fellowship officiating. Interment will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home 2800 South Osage St., Amarillo TX. Mrs. Whaley was born in Liberty, Missouri. She married Weldon Whaley on August 21, 1965 at Albany, Georgia. She moved to Amarillo in March of 1992 from Bakersfield, California. She worked as a waitress at the Iron Skillet Restaurant for 15 years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Joseph Mark Whaley in 1972. Survivors include: her husband of the home, 2 daughters, Mary Annette Klohn and her husband Brad of Summerville, SC, and Penny Whaley of Amarillo; 2 sons, John Whaley and his wife Robin of Bakersfield, CA, and Weldon Whaley, Jr. and his wife April of Shawnee, OK; 7 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
