Mary Louise Young

Mary Louise Young, 82 of Amarillo died Friday March 14, 2008 in Amarillo. Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM Monday at Claude Cemetery in Claude with John Watson, Chaplain of Hospice of the Southwest officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel 2800 S. Osage St. Amarillo, Texas. Mrs. Young was born and raised in Wheeler. She moved to Amarillo from Pampa in 1949. She was a homemaker. She married Ira Young in 1942 at Wheeler. He preceded her in death in 2000. She was also preceded in death by a son, Wayne Young in 1990, a brother, Gary Gillenwater in 2007, and by a great-granddaughter, Melissa Young. Survivors include: 3 daughters, Beverly Carroll and Daphne Fox both of Amarillo, and Ethel Kotara of Lubbock; 1 son, Glenn Young of Amarillo; 2 sisters, Lois Calloway and Laveta Caskey both of Pampa; 1 brother, Johnny Gillenwater of Childress; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchildren.
