Mcdavies 'Big Mac' Harrison Sr.

McDavies Big Mac Harrison Sr., 90, of Amarillo passed away on Monday, October 27, 2014 in Amarillo. No Memorial Services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Amarillo, Texas. McDavies was born on July 30, 1924 in Greenwood, SC to Miles Cap and Maggie Lou Harrison. When he was a child he moved from South Carolina to Washington, DC where he graduated from high school. He joined the Army in March of 1944 and served during World War II. After the war McDavies went back to Washington to attended College. He worked for Lamar & Wallace Inc. Trucking Company until he retired. McDavies always had a love for cars, and enjoyed watching sports. McDavies was a devoted family man, he loved spending time with his children, and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him. He is preceded in death by three brothers. Survivors include: three daughters, Earlene A. Harrison, Darlene M. Harrison, and Alberta L. Harrison, two sons, McDavies Harrison Jr., and Clinton L. Harrison. Three sisters; Hazel Davis, Ida Wilson, and Flora Brown, and a host of Grandchildren, Great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
