Melvin Aljo Bell

Melvin Aljo Bell, 67, of Amarillo died Monday, July 28, 2003, in Amarillo. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church with Dr. Dana Moore officiating. Cremation and arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Bell was born in Thayer, Kansas. He moved to Amarillo in 1997 from Corsicana, Texas. He lived in Dodge City, KS for 30 years. He worked for several off shore drilling companies, and also worked for Foley Tractor Co. in Dodge city, KS. He married Jonel Bratton Decker at Woodville, TX in 1966. He was affiliated with Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. Survivors include: his wife, of the home; 1 daughter, Chris Keirlman and husband Steve of Del Norte, CO; 1 son, Glenn Decker and wife Dawn of Palmer, TX; and 1 sister, Beatrice Gable of Newport, WA; 6 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. Memorial Donations may be made to Don & Sybil Harrington Cancer Center or Crown of Texas Hospice.
