Merrick S. Sherel, II 26, of Amarillo died Sunday, July 14, 2019 in Amarillo. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:30 pm to 7 pm Friday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel. A Celebration of Life service will be at 11 am Saturday at Christian Heritage Church. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Merrick was born on March 22, 1993 in Amarillo. He attended Margaret Wills and Avondale schools in Amarillo and Fossil Ridge High School in Keller. He returned to Amarillo in 2016. Merrick worked as a heavy equipment operator for J. Lee Milligan and Grant Construction. Merrick had a larger than life personality, not just in his stature. He was the life of the party and had many life-long friends. Merrick was a devoted father, son, brother and companion to his fiance'. He enjoyed spending time on his Road Glide. Merrick is survived by his parents, Tammy and Billy Christian and Shawn and Heather Sherel; his fiance', Brittany Martin; his son, Keason; four sisters, Whitney Trull, Ashleigh Sherel, McKenzie Kuck and Ryanne Johnson; one brother, Brandon Evans; his grandparents, Kenneth and Bunny Grays and Roy and Joyce Christian, and many extended family members.
