Michael 'Mike' Williams

Michael Lynn "Mike" Williams 68, of Amarillo, died Thursday, July 4, 2019 in Amarillo. Services will be at 2 pm Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Harry Williams officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mike was born on April 20, 1951 in Amarillo to H.H. and Loudene (Richerson) Williams. He graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1969. Mike worked for BNSF for more than 30 years. He retired in 2001 as a conductor. He enjoyed fishing and camping and visiting his home place in Berlin, OK. Mike had many life-long friends from raising and selling show hogs, working for the railroad and visiting the Pine Shed, his home away from home. He was an avid OU fan and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and loved telling stories. Mike married his wife Doris on June 25, 1998 in Red River, NM. Together, they raised their grandson, Trevor. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, two grandchildren, Layla Morgan and Nicko Williams and his brother Kenneth Williams. He is survived by his wife; 3 sons, J Michael "Bocephus" Williams and his wife Danielle, Robert Pogue and his wife Perria and Michael Pogue and his wife Christina; five daughters, Angel Dawn McGoffin and her husband Charlie, Michele Lynn Slayton and her husband Bobby, Amanda Mishawn Tiffin, Bea Jay Latta and her husband Sean and Whitney E'Lyn Williams; 17 grandchildren, Trevor Pogue, John Donais, Jaycee McGoffin, Houston Slayton, Candace Schultz, Austin Slayton, Michael C. Williams, Chandra Rice, Kirsten Rice, Micailyn Banks, Yzabel Morgan, Jakson Latta, Jameson "Rooster" Latta, D.J. Williams, J Michael "Booger Red" Williams, Pepper Williams and Bleu Williams and seven great grandchildren. The family suggests memorial donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the Shriner's Crippled Children's Hospital.
