Mike O'Neall

Mike O'Neall 63, of Amarillo died Monday November 9, 2009 in Amarillo. Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Rev. Robert E. Field, retired Baptist minister officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St.Mike was born in Lubbock on June 24, 1946. He served with the U.S. Army Special Forces and was a paratrooper. He was honorably discharged in 1970. Mike was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed extreme sports such as hang-gliding, white water rafting and sailing. He also worked as a hang-gliding instructor in Colorado. He worked as an engineering draftsman for several years. He served as a volunteer at the Crown of Texas Hospice. He was recognized as ""The Volunteer of the Day"" by the Amarillo Globe News. He is survived by 1 aunt, Elizabeth O'Neall of the home; 1 uncle, Bert O'Neall of Amarillo and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
