Mildred A. Burch 94, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, September 30, 2014 in Amarillo. Services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday at Oasis Southwest Baptist Church with Bradley Speer, pastor officiating. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Burch was born on January 5, 1920 in Bald Knob, Arkansas to John H. and Eithel Mae Plant. She moved to Amarillo in 1928. She married C.T. Burch on June 27, 1937 in Canyon. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Mrs. Burch was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and Christian. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and crocheting. She made many afghans, quilts and Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls. She was very active with the Amarillo Senior Citizens Association. Mrs. Burch enjoyed spending time dancing on Friday nights at the ASCA. She is survived by 3 daughters, Melba House and her husband Bob of Amarillo, Helen Jester of Kirby, Arkansas and Beverly Coker and her husband Lonnie of Austin; 3 sons, Richard Burch and his wife Pat of Amarillo, Don Burch and his wife Eline of Canadian and Ray Burch and his wife Cheryl of Clarendon; one brother, Richard Plant of Phoenix, Arizona; 19 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:00 Friday and suggests memorial donations to Oasis Southwest Baptist Church, 8201 Canyon Dr. Amarillo, Texas 79110.
