Mildred Laflora King-Peevy

Mildred LaFlora King-Peevy 96, of Amarillo died Thursday, January 5, 2012 in Amarillo. Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday at Euchee Valley Memorial Park Cemetery near Chushing, OK. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Peevy was born on June 19, 1915 to Joel and Josephine King in Inola, OK. She married Odell Leonard Peevy. He preceded her in death on Sept. 29, 1989. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a twin brother, Melvin and 3 sisters, Ruby Ballew, Blanche Ebner and Lorraine Wilson. Mrs. Peevy had a pioneer spirit. She sold ""Fashion Frocks"", Stanley Home Products, Sara Coventry Jewelry and later embarked on a career in reflexology and massage therapy. She worked on the development of the Jim Thorpe Memorial in Yale, OK., assisting Mr. Thorpe's 2 sisters whom lived in Yale. She was a member and past Noble Grand of the Rebecca Lodge. Mrs. Peevy was also a member of the Methodist Church at Yale. Mrs. Peevy was a beloved and cherished Mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She is survived by 3 daughters, Betty Baze and her husband Ted, Janelle Williams and her husband Charles and Lovida Giblin, her grandchildren Tim and Susan Baze, Sharon and Aaron Medina, Ron and Dawn Baze, Cheryl Rogers, Terri Caldwell, Gary Bryan Prichard, William and Kerry Roper, Charles and Dawn Roper, Tap McQ and Krissy Giblin; great grandchildren, Trent and Taryn Baze, Meghan and Hannah, Steel, Caden Medina, Chris and Maet Baze, Amber and Aaron Weir, Kaitlin Tess, Cambry Tate and Aaron Ross Prichard, Shelby, Jarrett and Shannon Roper and Makensie Roper. The family requests memorial donations to the Ware Memorial Care Center, 400 W. 14th Ave. Amarillo, Texas 79101.
