Mohammad Rahim Hakimi

Mohammad Rahim Hakimi 72, of Amarillo died Thursday, January 12, 2017 in Amarillo. Private family services were held Friday, January 13, 2017. Arrangements were by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Hakimi was born on May 15, 1944 in Afghanistan. He moved to Texas in 1973 to pursue a degree in agriculture at Texas A&M University. He worked at IBP/Tyson Foods. He retired as a supervisor after more than 30 years of service. Mohammad was a member of the Amarillo Poultry Association and the Amarillo Chess Club. He was known as a hard worker. He loved his children and was an extraordinary father. He enjoyed giving to those less fortunate than he was. He is survived by two daughters, Heidi Hood of Wichita Falls and Sara Van Dell of Amarillo; two sons, Fred Hakimi and John Hakimi both of Amarillo; eight grandchildren and family members in Afghanistan.
