Monique Ballard, 21 of Amarillo died Friday June 13, 2008 in Amarillo. Memorial services will be at 2:00 pm Thursday at Grace Church with Pastors Bill Gehm and Scott Davey officiating. Cremation was by Rector Funeral Home 2800 S. Osage St. Amarillo, Texas 79103 Monique was born on Jan. 17, 1987 in Dallas to Kelly and Vilma Ballard. She lived in Dallas, Abilene, Lubbock, Amarillo, Lampasas and Harker Heights Texas, as well as Las Vegas Nevada and Agoura Hills California. She graduated from Tascosa High School in 2005, and attended Texas A&M University at College Station for two years. She was currently pursuing a nursing degree in Amarillo. She was a member of Grace Church in Amarillo and belonged to the Living Lord, Jesus Christ. Monique was a special person who was full of a zest for life and had a heart of gold. She enjoyed triathlons, exercising and working with children. She completed the Austin Marathon in 2007, which she was particularly proud of. Survivors include her mother, Vilma, of Amarillo; her father Kelly and brother Lucan of Lampasas, and many Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews as well as special friends all over the country. The family requests memorial donations in care of Grace Church to help with expenses in Amarillo.
