Myer Casey 66, of Amarillo died Sunday July 11, 2010 in Amarillo. Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM Thursday at Llano Cemetery with Jay Roberson, pastor of Tascosa Road Fellowship officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Casey was born in Stuebeneville, OH. He moved to Amarillo in 1959. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1961. Mr. Casey worked for the United States Postal Service for 4 years. He received a performance award from the Postmaster General in 1968. After leaving the post office, Mr. Casey worked for Getman Concrete. He retired as a foreman in 2009 after 42 years of faithful service. Mr. Casey was a beloved husband, father, ""Papa"", brother, son-in-law and friend. His greatest joy was spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He was a very hard working man and was a great example to his children. He was always willing to help any one in need. Mr. Casey loved the outdoors. He loved animals and especially spending time with his grandkids. He attended Tascosa Road Fellowship. He married the love of his life, Betty Phipps on July 12, 1965 in Amarillo. He passed away 1 day before their 45th wedding anniversary. He is survived by his wife; one son, LtCol Scott Casey of Aledo and his wife Denise of Aledo; one daughter Christal Casey-Moore and her husband Joel of San Marcos; one brother, Dennis Casey of Amarillo; his mother-in-law, Annie Phipps of Amarillo and 3 grandchildren, Marcus Casey, Sydney Casey and Natalie Casey all of Aledo. The family suggests memorial donations be to Olivia's Angels in care of BSA Hospice or the Amarillo Humane Society. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
