Myrna Louise Hethcox, 82, of Amarillo passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2023. Graveside service is at 10:00 am Friday at Llano Cemetery officiated by Shawn Chancellor. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage. The family will receive guests 5:00pm- 7:00pm Thursday, August 31 at the funeral home. Myrna was born in Albany, Indiana on July 9, 1944, to Evert and Goldie Spitler. Her family moved to Amarillo when Myrna was in the 5th grade. She married the love of her life, Dennis Hethcox on December 24, 1960, at the Pleasant Valley Church of Christ. Myrna enjoyed quilting, scrapbooking, baking, and sewing. She was a God-fearing woman. Myrna was loving, and caring and had a servants heart. She loved serving the Lord. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Church of Christ. Myrna's favorite memories were spending time with her family and friends, camping, water skiing, and horseback riding (riding club). Myrna was a faithful and hardworking employee. She worked for the Amarillo Heart Group for 12 years. She was the former Clerical director of communication. Her treasured accomplishments included her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a dedicated wife, mother, loyal friend, and employee. Myrna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her stepfather, Elbert Flynt, her granddaughter, Amanda Delgado, and one grandson-in-law, Donavan Fricks. Those left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Joyce Delgado, and her husband Danny, her son, Leslie Hethcox, grandchildren: Trisha Fricks, Joshua Delgado and his wife Miranda, great grandchildren, Anthony Delgado, Kyree and Vivian Fricks, Joshua and Brandon Delgado, sister, Rita Fesmire, brothers-in-law: Lanny Hethcox and wife Donna, and Jarrell Hethcox, sisters-in-law: Gail Mehnert, and Gaye York and her husband Roger, Nieces: Tana Andrews, Cynthia Strother, Tiffany Toft, Eryn Griffin, Nancy Griffin, Holly Hicks, and Shelley York, Nephews: Flynt Fesmire, Wayne Hethcox, Brandon Hethcox, Richard Mehnert, and Kenneth Mehnert, and many great nieces and great-nephews.
