Myrtle M. Blevins

Myrtle M. ""Myrt"" Blevins 72 of Amarillo died Saturday, October 20, 2012 in Amarillo. Memorial services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Jerry Billington officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Blevins was born in North Dakota. She moved to Amarillo in 1975 from Schertz. She was a homemaker and an exceptional wife, mother and grandmother. She dearly loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She married George Blevins on July 20, 1957 in Carson City, NV. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2010. She was also preceded in death by a great-grandson, Brian Blevins, a son in law, Chris Kennedy and a sister Beatrice Bird. She is survived by one son, Bruce Blevins and his wife Anita of Amarillo; three daughters, Barbara Kennedy of Cibolo, Jeannie Blevins of Amarillo and Teresa Blevins and her husband Keith of Converse; four brothers, Herbert Bird, Vernon Bird, Bill Bird and Bobby Bird all of Washington; one sister, Dorothy Gardner of Amarillo; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorial donations to Odyssey Hospice.
