Nathan Clay Martin, 83, died Sunday, March 5, 2017. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Community of Grace United Methodist Church with Pastor Michael L. Robinson. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. He was born Oct. 11, 1933, in Amarillo to Nathan E Martin and Juanita Eola Farrell. Nathan was selfless, humble and faithful; he loved God and his family. He was the organist for Community of Grace United Methodist Church from 1952 to 2016. He was one of the founders of Opportunity School. Nathan held a Master Degree in Social Services. He retired from the State of Texas as a social worker. Later retired as the Director of the VA nursing Home in Amarillo Nathan was preceded in death by his wife, Dale Martin; and a son, Lewis Kane Martin. Survivors include a son, Nathan Martin; two daughters, Laura Martin Drust and Julia Martin Padilla; two sisters, Wanda Johnson and Kay Keney; a brother, Jerry Martin; six grandchildren; Nathan, Tony, Jacob & Declan Padilla; Weldon & Kody McCandless; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
