Neal “Nealy” Alonzo Nixon

Neal “Nealy” Alonzo Nixon, 80, of Amarillo, TX passed away Thursday, January 22, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.

Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m., Friday, February 6, 2026, in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St.

Nealy was born October 12, 1945, in Phillipsburg, MO, to the late Earl and Mary (Caffey) Nixon. For many years, he was a shop hand at Mitchener Transport. In his free time, he enjoyed watching WWE, Westerns, going to Cracker Barrel, and spending time with family.

We would like to thank the staff at Landmark, especially his favorite nurse, CoCo, and the many friends he made in his time there.

He was very loved and will be deeply missed.

In addition to his parents, Nealy was preceded in death by his brother, Eddie Nixon; his sister, Sandy Mitchener; and great-nephew, Ryan Martin.

Survivors include his daughter, Penny Nixon; grandchildren, Daylynn Nixon and Josey Wells; great-grandchildren, Dwayne and Raelynn Wilkerson; siblings, Margaret Harper and Joyce Dix; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
