Neiva Yuvonne Barnes

Neiva Yuvonne Barnes 77, of Amarillo died Friday, Feb. 7, 2014. Services will be at 2:00 PM Monday at Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Tucker officiating. Burial will be at Llano East Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Barnes was born in Brownfield. She moved to Amarillo in 1959. She was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her family. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. She married Carl Dean Barnes in 1959 in Amarillo. he preceded her in death in 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Revada "Red" and Paula Helton, 4 sisters, Martha, Pauline, Louise and Barbara and a grandson, Kenneth Ray. She is survived by 3 daughters, Neiva Mae Chambless and her husband Tem of Lakewood, CO, Lisa Marie Gesulga and Jennifer Yuvonne Edwards, both of Amarillo; 3 sons, Carl Lee Barnes and his wife Alicia of Amarillo, Ellis Dean Barnes and his companion Lynn Reid of Denver, CO and Kevin Dale Barnes of Perryton; 3 sisters, Mary Bonita Martin of Napanee, IN, Shirley Ann Olson and Nancy Sue Carnley and her husband Roger, all of Kennedy; one brother, Jackie Robert Helton and his wife Barbara of Amarillo; 2 brothers in law, Mike Wood of San Antonio and Cecil Fritts of Amarillo; 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5:30 - 6:45 Sunday at the funeral home.
