Neldehn ""Nanny"" Ross 84 of Amarillo died Tuesday April 4, 2006. Services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday at Arden Road Baptist Church with Dale Bigham, pastor and Marvin Matthews, Baptist Missionary officiating. Interment will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Coulter Chapel, 8310 South Coulter Amarillo. Neldehn ""Nanny"" Ross was born in Vernon, Texas to Jack and Ora Mae Ellis. She was a ""True Texas Legend"" among cowboys and those who wear hand made boots. She was simply known as ""Mrs. Ross"" to cowboys far and wide. She married Charlie Ross in 1937. The following Monday, she went to work with him and her father-in-law, D.V. Ross began teaching her to make boots. She became one of the best boot makers in the world and continued making boots for 65 years. The tradition is carried on today by her sons. She was a ""True Texas Legend"" and a ""World Class Mom and Nanny"" She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie, a grandson, Brittain Dehn Bryant and a sister, Betty Harrison Survivors include: 3 daughters; Barbara Greenroyd and her husband Jerry of Amarillo, Charlene Judd and her husband Jim of Red Oak and Cindy Bryant and her husband George of Dalhart; 2 sons; Bob Ross and Charles Ross and his wife Sherry all of Amarillo; 1 sister; Jackie Brewer of Amarillo, 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorial donations to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch 600 W. 11th Ave. Amarillo, Texas 79101 The family will receive friends at the home of Charles and Sherry Ross, 2104 Glen Rosa Lane.
