Norita R. Diaz

Norita R. Diaz, 84, of Amarillo died Monday, July 18, 2022. No services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements and cremation are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel. Norita was born in Amarillo on September 8, 1937, to Bill and Dorothy Mayes. She was a Christian woman with a servants heart. She would give the shirt off of her back and take food to those less fortunate. She was very giving even if she didnt have it to give. She worked hard to provide for her family. Norita raised her granddaughter Rochelle from the time she was 4 years old. She was married to the love of her life, Margo for 35 years until he preceded her in death in 1994. Norita Retired from Amarillo College after 20 years of employment. For many years she went to the Olson Manner nursing home and cut hair for the residents. Norita was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Margo Diaz, and two sisters; Dorris Mullins and Nancy Hutchinson. She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Ogden, and husband Bruce, two sons; Rito and Michael Diaz, three granddaughters; Lovena Haas, Rochelle Diaz, and Page Diaz, two grandsons; Tony Diaz and Frank Foster, 11 great-grandchildren, one sister, Glenda Musik, and two brothers; Bill and Steve Mayes.
