Services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday at Trinity Baptist Church with Dr, David Evans, pastor officiating. Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday at Hillcrest Cemetery in McLean, TX. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St., Amarillo, Texas. Mrs. Schmedel was born in Hedley. She was raised in McLean and graduted from McLean High School. She moved to Amarillo in 1956 from Waco. She worked as a bookkeeper at Amarillo College full time for 3 years and part time for 30 years. She assisted her husband in an income tax business. Her primary endeavor in life was being a devoted wife and mother. She was a key to her husbands awards at Amarillo College for teaching excellence. She and her husband enjoyed traveling and square dancing. She married David Schmedel, August 13, 1966 at Amarillo. Survivors include her husband of the home, 2 daughters; Rebecca Payne of Santa Fe, NM, and Deborah Peyton of Amarillo, 1 sister; Ona Gail McKee of Amarillo, 1 brother; Thelter McPherson of Griffin, GA., 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
