Orville O. Williamson

Orville O. Williamson 77, of Amarillo died Sunday April 20, 2008 in Amarillo. Services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday at Cornerstone Baptist Church with Coy Wylie, pastor officiating. Interment will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel 2800 S. Osage St. Amarillo, Texas. Mr. Williamson was born in Quitaque. He lived in Amarillo most of his life. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He worked for AT&T for more than 40 years. After retiring from AT&T, Mr. Williamson worked for Loomis Fargo. In 1975, Mr. Williamson married the love of his life, Sharron. They did summer missionary work in Brazil, Singapore and the United States. They volunteered at the Cornerstone Community Center in Fort Worth for many years. The community center named their free health clinic after them. Mr. Williamson spent countless hours ministering to hundreds of children and young adults. He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife Sharron, 2 daughters, Debbie Patterson and her husband Randy of Amarillo and Charlynn Browning of Mesa, AZ; 2 sons, Michael Webster and his wife Diane of Garland and Larry Williamson and his wife Anna of Albuquerque, NM; 2 adopted children, Willie Mae Turner and her husband Earnest of Oklahoma City and Jeannie Garcia and her husband Paul of Fort Worth; 1 brother, R.D. Williamson of Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donation be to Cornerstone Baptist Church 4400 S. Crockett Amarillo, Texas 79110.
