Paul Michael Shannon Floyd

Paul Michael Shannon Floyd, 60, of Amarillo went home on Saturday, September 30th, 2023. The family will be celebrating his life on Friday the 13th this month of October 2023. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM at New Life Church on 406 Pittsburgh St., Amarillo, TX 79104. Following the services, he will be laid to rest at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage. Paul was born on Saturday, December 1st, 1962, in Amarillo to Peter Paul Floyd and Sharon Diana (Pride) Floyd. Paul was raised in Amarillo surrounded by his loving family, graduating from Caprock in 1982. After the birth of his son in 1985, Paul went on to serve our country in the United States Navy where he solidified an already strong foundation of respect, resolve, and discipline. After his honorable discharge from Lakehurst Naval base, Paul decided to stay and build a life in New Jersey. After 26 years, Paul returned to Amarillo, becoming a regular fixture at the Thomas E. Creek VA Hospital as an employee and veteran. Pauls unmistakable laugh, positivity, and smile had an immense impact on all those lucky enough to call him a friend. May his spirit, character, and kindness live on through others. Survivors include one son, Joshua Aaron Floyd of Amarillo; one brother Bruce Alan Floyd of Amarillo; one sister Margo Celeste Floyd Eisawi of Amarillo; several nieces and nephews; and his six pups.
