Pedro Aranda

Pedro Aranda, Jr. 86, of Amarillo died Wednesday, December 28, 2016 in Amarillo. Services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with his sons, Juan Aranda and Pete Aranda, III officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Pedro was born on September 9, 1930 in San Benito to Pedro and Natividad Aranda. He moved to Amarillo more than 20 years ago from Dimmitt. He retired from Easter Grain as an elevator operator after 30 years of dedicated service. Pedro was well known in his neighborhood for always helping others. He was an excellent handyman and enjoyed taking care of his family and neighbors. Pedro loved going to pawn shops and visiting. He loved playing his guitar and enjoyed all typed of music. He married Maria Dulia in 1949 in San Benito. She passed away in 2013. Pedro is survived by two sons, Juan Aranda and Pete Aranda both of Harlingen; two daughters, Estela Flores of Amarillo and Dulia Perez of Dimmitt; one brother, Ponciano Aranda of Dimmitt; 11 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
