Pete Bitela

Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at 10:00 AM in Llano Cemetery with Msgr. Rex Nicholl of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, Osage Chapel. Pete married Phyllis Zachary in 1995 in Amarillo. He was a loving husband, dad, friend, brother, and grandpa. He was a hard worker and enjoyed working in his yard. He could make anything grow. He worked for Llano Cemetery for 25 years and he retired in 1995. He loved Harley Davidson Motorcycles. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Los Compadres He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Monica Bitela; two brothers, Victor and Martinsito Bitela; a and a sister, Nora Mireles. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by his wife Phyllis of the home; six daughters; Anna Belle (Bonnie) Bustos of Yuma, AZ; Mary Ellen Bitela, Valentina Bitela, Isabel Lopez and her husband Mark, all of Amarillo; Juanita Barron of Chickasha, OK; and Tamitha Hinojosa of Amarillo; three sons, Pete Bitela Jr. and Ernie Bitela of Amarillo; and Clinton E. Wickham; four sisters, Rosemary Crabtree, Diane Velasquez, Sandra Stone and Benita Price; three brothers, Bennie Bitela, Marin Bitela, and Joe Bitela; twenty five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a special friend Rafelita Escamilla. The family will be at 2404 Irene and 3110 Nelson. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Don & Sybil Harrington Cancer Center 1500 Wallace Blvd., Amarillo TX 79106
