Phyllis Roman

Phyllis Roman 68, of Amarillo passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2019. Memorial services will be at 10 am Saturday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Jesse Perez officiating. Inurnment will be at Llano Cemetery. Military honors will be by Volleys for Veterans. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Phyllis was born in Clayton, NM on Sept. 6, 1950 to Bernadino and Andrita Martinez. She lived in Amarillo most of her life. Phyllis served in the Army and was honorably discharged as a PFC in 1970. She worked at Panhandle Community Services for more than 25 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by one son, Mario Renteria of Long Beach, CA; one daughter, Melanie Powers and her husband Matthew of Amarillo; six brothers and five sisters; four grandchildren. The family suggests memorial donations to the Thomas E. Creek VAMC, 6010 Amarillo Blvd. W., Amarillo, Texas 79106.
