Ranulfo Montenegro

Ranulfo Montenegro 86, of Amarillo, died Friday, December 2, 2011 in Amarillo. Rosary will be said at 6:00 PM Monday at Rector Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of the Christian burial will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday at St. Laurence Cathedral. Burial will be at Llano East Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Montenegro was born in Hugo, Colo. He moved to Amarillo in 1974 from El Paso. He worked as a carpenter for many years. Mr. Montenegro was a member of St. Laurence Cathedral. He was a loving husband and father. He especially enjoyed spending time with all of his grandchildren. He married Juana Rubio in El Paso. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Guadalupe Ibarra in 2001. Mr. Montenegro is survived by his wife, 4 daughters, Rosa Nunez, Gloria Ramirez, Maria Mendoza and Magdalena Alvarez all of Amarillo; 7 sons, Ranulfo Montenegro, Jr., Roberto Montenegro, Carlos Montenegro, Arturo Montenegro, Jose Montenegro and Daniel Montenegro all of Amarillo and Rosendo Montenegro of Albuquerque, NM; and a host of grandchildren and other family members.
